Zania.net’s 1 Year Anniversary!

Ladies and gentlemen I am proud to say that a year ago today I posted my first blog post on Zania.net! Isn’t that crazy? Time really does fly when you’re having fun! I began to blog with the intent of keeping myself accountable and on a schedule while exploring the different career possibilities out there. While doing just that, I found this blog to be an incredibly gratifying form of self-expression.

And boy, what a difference a year makes! When I embarked on this personal journey of rediscovery last year, I was very scared. I wish I’d had a clear answer as to what I should be doing and where and how, but of course, life is not like that. It took a lot of inner work and retraining of my brain to depart from old habits and thoughts to create new ones. Fast forward to now, I’m overjoyed with my personal transformation. I am now open to any and all opportunities that may come my way (and they have) and I’m not afraid of failing or taking risks. Most importantly, I refuse to live a life of confused misery. Now I live to be joyful and purposeful.

All White Kitchens

Hi amigos!

While some might think that all white kitchens are boring, I find them to be absolutely beautiful. I think it’s because they seem to make the cooking less of a hassle and more of a light and airy process. They are just so clean and bright! Would I have my dream kitchen all white? I don’t know. But I’m surely loving these!

All white works with all types of styles including; modern, rustic, midcentury, classic, traditional, you name it. By ‘all white’ I mean, white cabinetry, white backsplash and white countertops. That’s what you’ll see here. Floors, ceilings, appliances, hardware and accent pieces may vary. Here I’ve gathered 10 of my favorite white kitchens from the blogosphere. Enjoy!

My Vision Board

Hi everyone!

Have you heard of vision boards before? If you haven’t, a vision board is an actual board meant to help you organize your goals in the form of images. You can use these boards in reference to anything: your life, a business, a specific event or project…the list goes on. You can make one at home or on your computer, with just about anything that you can imagine. If you Google “Vision boards” you will have thousands of examples at your disposal!

What do you want? Joy? Love? Abundance? A restaurant? A pet ladybug? Your board can have whatever you want on it! By putting this board together, you are turning your thoughts, intentions, and desires into concrete images. And in turn, by seeing these images on a daily basis, you can then have a clearer focus towards attaining those results.

I am a very visual person; therefore, making a “life” vision board for myself made complete sense. So I finally sat my bubble-butt down and made it happen! I’m very happy with how it turned out! Here it is (in no particular order). I have also provided explanations below. (I numbered the images from left to right). Maybe this can help you get your vision board started! Before & After: TV Tray Tables

TV_Tray_Tables_1Hi amigos!

How ’bout those TV tray tables you have at home? Do they look like my ‘Before’ picture? Well… These handy dandy tables are not necessarily the best lookin’ ones right off the shelf but like every other piece of furniture at home, they are not to be neglected! They get a lot of abuse here in my household and after several years of wear and tear it was time to beautify them and give them some serious TLC.

I used several tribal rug prints as well as geometric wall tiles as inspiration. I wanted to use the black and white color palette because it is classic and it was the paint I had available. I also didn’t want to spend a dime doing this so therefore I used what I already had at home. In the end, they turned out fabulously glam! Don’t you think? Here’s how it all went down!

Baseball Wife Birthday

Hi everyone!

The response to my blog post about Becoming a Baseball Wife was astounding! It really is incredible how showing vulnerability and imperfection openly manages to reach deep into the soul of others. This is especially true in an age where every #selfie and Facebook profile picture has been carefully tweaked to show your “best self” (I’m no exception). It’s impossible not to think that everyone else has got it together and you are the only one that’s dragging behind (again, I’m no exception). This is why I want to share the following story with you.

My birthday was this past Sunday March 30th. The Monday before my birthday, my husband comes home with a gift bag and a Happy Birthday song. He then says, “I don’t know if I’ll be here for your birthday, so just in case, I want to celebrate with you today!” While some would feel devastated to hear this, I, on the other hand, melted in his arms. That’s incredibly thoughtful of him and I was not expecting it at all. He went on to explain that he suspected his upcoming work trip would be extended and he didn’t know when he would return home. I gladly agreed to our Monday pre-birthday celebration without hesitation and with the same giddiness as if it were the actual day. We ordered pizza, watched Disney’s Frozen, drank wine, talked and of course I sang “Let it go” and “First time in Forever” a million times while pirouetting through our living room. Typical.
