Here we go again! It’s baseball season and the hubs is-a-travelin’ and the wife is-a-followin’! Now with a baby in tow, it’s a bit harder to travel but that’s not stopping us from keeping our new family together!
My husband is a baseball scout traveling all over the Midwest and Southeast of the country as well as Puerto Rico. While we’re fortunate that we get to travel with him, it’s not like I can just drop everything and go. His schedule is highly unpredictable and unpredictability is not desirable when traveling with an 8-month old. Therefore, we plan to see FF when he knows he’ll be in one place for more than two days (tournaments or a series of games).
According to Journey’s Faithfully lyrics, “they say that the road ain’t no place to start a family…” I get it. (You’re totally singing that song now aren’t you? l am.) Hence, I will be home more often than not to give our baby boy a sense of normalcy and familiarity. It’s important that we balance it out for him. Home is here in Miami, not the road. All that said, this will allow for Alfie and I to see FF more often instead of the 5-10 days a month when he’s home. (sniff!)
Not having my hubby around for long periods of time is very difficult. I’ve been a baseball wife for over 7 years and bringing in a baby into the mix is a whole other ball game… Pun intended. As this season commences, we’re committed to see each other as often as possible. Family first and then everything else.
I’ll be documenting our trips via Instagram so if you want to join us, just follow me on IG or click on the link on the sidebar.
