Gaby’s Fearless Chic Dining Room

Hi everyone!

Here’s my latest E-Decorating project! This inspiration board belongs to a dear friend, Gaby, who has fabulous style but runs a very busy life. Enter, Zania… Gaby is full of life and there’s not a day that goes by that she’s not dressed to the nines. While she has her regular 9-to-5 job at a well-known media company, she is also an entrepreneur in the fashion industry. (Check out her online clothing site AlmaMei. I also borrowed a necklace from her line for my music video). Not only is she following her dreams, but she is also contributing to a greater cause through her passion. Who doesn’t love that?! Bravo! Needless to say, when she asked for my help in decorating her dining room, I knew exactly how to reflect her personality through decor. I call it: Fearless Chic! How One of My Songs Helped a Young Girl Heal

You’ve probably heard the saying “Music Heals”, right? Well, I want to share with you something that recently touched my heart. The next paragraphs will tell you how Naem, an inspiring 27-year-old girl from Medellín, Colombia found the courage to fight for her voice by using one of my songs, and in turn taught me a lesson or two. I can feel my throat tightening already…

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Monster Cookies

Hi everyone!

Have you tried oatmeal chocolate chip cookies before? If you haven’t, you are missing out! Store bought cookies are good but they don’t come close to the fresh-off-the-oven taste of the homemade version. When I came across this recipe in the December issue of Coastal Living magazine, I just had to make it! This yields about 18 large cookies, hence “monster” in the recipe name. I’m sure you’ll want to try it at home! Here it is peeps! Continue reading “Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Monster Cookies”

Becoming a Baseball Wife

If you had told me more than 10 years ago that I would marry into baseball, I wouldn’t have given it much thought. My husband, FF, and I have been together for 9 years… 2 of those as a married couple. We are now entering our 6th baseball season together and I have to say, it is definitely not an easy thing to get used to. FF is an amateur baseball scout, which means he goes to high schools and colleges searching for potential professional talent. This wasn’t what he thought he’d end up doing in life, but when the recession hit back in 2008, his Masters in Religious Studies and Asian Philosophy wasn’t working for him… so he decided to go back to the sport that was ingrained in him and that lived in his blood since he was born: Baseball. Ask and You Shall Receive

Hello February!!

In the spirit of the month of LOVE I want to share with you a very special video titled “Me enamoré” or “I Fell in Love” from a young Puerto Rican singer. It shows how the simple act of asking for what you want can get you exactly that. Jose Alfredo (@josealfredorock) was bold enough to send me a message through Twitter with a special request. He got my attention then one thing led to the next and I ended up being part of his music video! Isn’t that cool?! All hail to the power of social media! The video also includes the generous participation of other local talent. We are all lip synching to his song and had so much fun doing it! You can watch the video for yourself below!

Here’s to being Bold & Creative! Have a wonderful day!

What has been your biggest, boldest move?? Tell me all about it in the comments section or via Social media. Links below.

Thanks for reading! ¡Abrazos!

Be Right Back!

Hi everyone!

Just like you, I’m back home and relaxed after a nice vacation with my family. I went from 80˚F weather in Puerto Rico to 0˚F in the Northeast but it was lots of fun! We took morning walks on the beach and hit the slopes at Loon, Bretton Woods and Sunday River. There wasn’t much snow on the first day so that means it was mostly ice. I fell… hard… a lot! Ouch!! Freezing my @$$ off while going up the ski lifts is not my idea of fun but it was all forgotten when perfectly formed snowflakes started falling on us! I had no idea you could see them like that! I though you needed a microscope (and a very cold lab) to see them! I included a picture in the slide show below for you to see!
